I am drawn to the complex and compounding challenges associated with water and energy resources. Drawing on my interdisciplinary education – a B.A. in environmental science, a M.S. in hydrology and a Ph.D. in geography – I am leveraging my physical and social science skills to study dynamic interactions among human and natural systems. My research investigates challenges and opportunities with renewable energy transitions and water resources management in both Montana and Nepal.

Growing up on an Adirondack lake, water has always intrigued me. My love for the outdoors and my curiosity about the multifaceted aspects of water resources led me to pursue an environmental career. I have conducted interdisciplinary research in Puerto Rico, Uzbekistan, India and Nepal. I have also worked throughout the western U.S. as a researcher and consultant. These academic and professional experiences have given me insight into the unique roles, responsibilities, and varied interests associated with water and energy projects and help me connect my research with decision-makers.
I am thrilled to be an Associate Professor at the University of Montana Western where I work with students to explore human-environment interactions throughout the Greater Yellowstone and High Divide region.
